Redeye, the North Carolina-based music company, has expanded its deal with Signature Sounds Recordings to include worldwide physical and digital distribution for new releases and catalog titles. The deal was announced during last week’s annual Redeye Label Hang at the company’s new global headquarters in Hillsborough, NC. Signature Sounds deal with Redeye previously only included international distribution.

Based in Northampton, MA, Signature Sounds Recordings roster includes Chris Smither, Eilen Jewell, The Suitcase Junket, Parsonsfield, And The Kids, Winterpills, and The Dustbowl Revival, among others. Alumni artists include Lake Street Dive, Josh Ritter, Mary Gauthier and Lori McKenna. Forthcoming albums from Signature Sounds artists The Suitcase Junket and Bridget Kearney (Lake Street Dive) will be released under the new agreement with Redeye.

“We are excited to add Signature Sounds to the worldwide Redeye family,” said Tor Hansen, co-founder of Redeye. “We had a peek at the 2017 release schedule and are proud to be part of the team and look forward to our continued work with the label’s artists and releases globally.”

“Signature Sounds signed on with Redeye for international distribution in 2014, and we’ve been very impressed with their team’s hard work and enthusiasm on behalf of our artists, says Jim Olsen, President, Signature Sounds Recordings. “We are thrilled to be expanding our deal to include the U.S. and look forward to a fruitful relationship in the future.”

Honored early this year with the Independent Spirit Award by Music Biz, 2016 marked the 20th anniversary for Redeye. One of the largest independent digital and physical distributors in North America, Redeye’s client roster includes Acony Records, Barsuk, Burger Records, Daptone, Kill Rock Stars, Warp and Yep Roc Records, as well as artists including Death Cab for Cutie, Iris Dement, Nick Lowe, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, and Gillian Welch.

E1 Entertainment previously distributed Signature Sounds Recordings in the United States.
